In 1992 I graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Criminal Justice of Administration and General Psychology. For 28 years I served as a Bay Area Police Officer. I spent most of my law enforcement career in patrol and as a school resource officer. My ancillary duties included serving as a Critical Incident Team member, Hostage Negotiator, department liaison with the County Department of Mental Health coordinating services to the local mentally ill, Peer Support Team Member, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Facilitator. I was medically retired in 2020 after suffering a disabling injury while assisting my colleagues with taking a psychotic transient into protective custody. In my retirement I attended Holy Apostles College and Seminary located in Cromwell, CT. and was awarded my Masters of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling in May 2023. In my free time I continue to serve as commissioner for a Police Activities League Junior Giants Youth Baseball League and administrator and coach for a Police Activities League Youth Rugby Club.
I was introduced to the Aroma Freedom Technique by Dr. Benjamin Perkus at the 2018 Young Living International Convention. I began to embrace and use the techniques on a personal level after my work injury in 2019 and throughout a series of personal life changing events over the past year and a half. These techniques have assisted me in redefining who I can be, what I am capable of, and freeing me from the weight of emotionally charged incidents experienced over my career as a first responder, 25 years of marriage, as a father of six children, and overcoming both conscious and unconscious restrictions I had placed on myself dating back to my own childhood. Aroma Freedom Techniques have emboldened who I am spiritually, intuitively, emotionally, in relationship, and how I may serve others in helping them discover their own unrestricted potential.
During my training I witnessed breathtaking transformation in the lives of my peers, friends, and volunteer clients. From January 2021 through March of 2023 I volunteered as a mentor at a local high school for at-risk teens. I was able to use the Aroma Freedom Technique practices to assist students with general anxiety, drug dependency anxiety, anger management, peer conflicts, and to assist with emotional recovery and development after exposure to domestic violence, parental absenteeism, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, death of a sibling, and death of a parent. I made my services available to staff members as well. With staff, AFT helped with restoring marital relationship, work related stress and anxiety, personal confidence, and career goal planning. Witnessing others realizing new hope, joy, passion, potential and freedom is simply beautiful.
My passionate vision as a practitioner is to actively make Aroma Freedom Techniques available to both active and retired first responders, veterans, at-risk youth, victims, and anyone else seeking to live a life free from the unnecessary restrictions our past memories may place on our true potential. My unique combined experience as o police officer, education and training as an AFT practitioner, and my education and faith-based approach as a pastoral counselor offers a unique opportunity for you to receive powerful accompaniment on a journey to where you might rather be in life, Here is a simple truth: Many of us are far more able to realize our heart’s desire than we remember.
